The client 

Arm is one of the largest, most prolific and creative communities of product innovators in the world, providing power-efficient intelligence as the foundation for transformative applications and business ideas.

The brief

The architectural, ahem, arm, of Arm, approached us to provide a summer celebration for their team of 70. The problem was that summer was ticking away, Autumn was coming and they were yet to find a suitable venue.

Their requirements included something within reasonable distance to their offices to allow access for all travel requirements including cycling, and suitable for a wet weather contingency.

Along with the venue finding, they also required creative management of activities, delicious summer-themed food, as well as event management pre and post-event.

The main event

Getting our creative heads together, we narrowed down the choices and found the perfect venue suitable for everything they wanted to achieve. It had great transport links, a fantastic view of the South Cambridgeshire Downs, and with the event being on officially the last day of summer, allowed us to present to them ‘Arm’s Summer Sunset BBQ’.

Learning more about the audience we were able to personalise their day from bringing in their favourite brewery for some craft beer excellence, to introducing elements of flair and theatre through a creative BBQ option which was presented at stages throughout the day. 

When it came to the activities, as always, the audience was our priority. Knowing that some people's inflatable fun is another’s mental gym, we learned what made the team tick and tailored the entertainment to suit.

From escape games to team challenges, the day brought the theme together without forcing the fun. The smiles and laughter flowed naturally and were enhanced by a personalised playlist curated with the group in mind.

The results

• Perfect venue, ticking all the right boxes from location to offering

• Wonderful selection of informal dining available throughout the event which pleased the self-proclaimed foodies in the group

• Wide range of activities suitable for all character types and group numbers which brought everyone together

• Personal touches added throughout to give the event a sense of individuality

We really enjoyed getting under the skin of this event and finding out about the personalities within the team to create something that would be engaging and enjoyable for all.
